dude! NJ transit sucks... I was waiting where I took this pic for a bus that was supposed to get where I was standing at 11:44pm and sure enough...didn't get there till 20 minutes past that... I know you may be going like, "yeah 20 minutes whatever"... but guess what?... the driver skipped the last stop, the one right before turning for the tunnel. she realizes she screwed up so she decided to fixed it by saying "oh well" so, i guess those standing there had to wait for the next one that wasn't going to come by till 30 minutes or later.
btw, i didn't use a tripod for this one... i sat the camera on a mailbox and held it steady with my hands for 13 seconds/100 ISO!

This shot certainly suits the mood of your story -- or is it the other way round!

Cool shot and great idea for the makeshift tripod. At least it wasn't cold like it is here in Sweden.

You did a great job with your make-shift tripod, Amin. Good creativity!

The trails from taillights always add something to an image, and this one is no exception. Is the trail in the sky a plane? If so, it is a good way to pick up the ground-based theme.

yes martin! thats a plane up there... I think where i was is relatively close to newark airport...
what i like about that trail is how you can tell the plane blinks i'ts light at a exact interval, see how the space in between the dots is almost the same despite the perspective?. :) almost like sound waves...

good work on the long exp, clear and attractive...

yeah NJ is bad enough in your own car without having to rely on NJ transit to get you about..... nice pic baby....... a man after my own heart..... chuck that tripod away and say never again........ I own the odd tripod but I only ever get them out to loose them........ I take one out.... its such a rare thing to do that I completely forget about it..... then walk off without it...... one got nicked in a bond dealing room...... er..... those guys are on million dollar bonusses but they are nicking my tripod?......yeah dude...... a 13 second hand held exposure.....you do not need a tripod bro!!!!!! They are bad for your posture ....... walk proudly and unencumbered .......Tripod????.........never again!!!!!

Amin, I applaud your "what can I do to entertain myself while I wait for my next ride to come" efforts. They paid off. I love this photo, and am going to try doing something similar when I can.

thanks for the comment, you know this wasnt totally hand-held right? i said i placed the cam on a mailbox, and held it steady as the mailbox top as well know are not flat but round... this is the one shot out of 3 other tries where i did not shake the cam... I was also not being so serious since i didnt want to photograph my bus leaving me standing there... that would have made me real happy. not.... :)
