And it's a Hard life

Intriguing story and photos. Really great photos. Have you tried talking to her yet? I noticed that someone in a previous post suggested that you not talk to her, but what harm could it do?
One reason that she might not be making eye contact is because you're a dude and she's an older lady. Younger women are more likely to smile or make eye contact than older women, especially where men and strangers are concerned.
I'm curious ... I wonder what her story is ...

good points, I just saw her today too. maybe am still too sleepy to talk early at those times or maybe jez would say "I just cant be bothered" (with a British accent)... am kidding of course but yeah, maybe next time i will say hi to her.

However do keep in mind that I picked up some really weird guy named Jez on the Boston Skywalk by talking to a stranger ... so ... so I'm just saying keep that in mind :-) :-) :-)
While in seminary I was assigned to work at a homeless mission and night shelter ... at first I was horrified and hated it, but then, oddly, strangely, it became my favorite assignment. Truly some of the most fascinating people I've met with amazing, often heartbreaking, but "real" stories ... way better than talking to the world's "beautiful people" types ... so definitely worth pursuing ... maybe worth it in terms of photos/art too.

i love this. it's such a new york story that you're telling here. she's always wearing the same colors -- it looks like a total set up but it's not! it's raw and real. this is great. so glad you captured this.
