i have been playing with this zoom lens i borrowed and its generally a bit disappointing because the aperture range goes allover the place depending on the level of zoom but even so it just doesnt go any lower than 4.0... the other thing - which is a biggie- is that its almost near impossible to get anything sharp since its so heavy and there is no vibration reduction. in other words, not as fancy as jez's killer zoom lens...
but despite all that dislike-ness i really like the fact that i can zoom really close from a far distance... - not shown at its fullest on this particular image - but my point is that i think its worth the hassle if i can get as close to people as i like to but not unnecessarily close enough physically .
